I validade my code every time I make changes to the css or the includes and today after a few adjustments I tried validating my site but got an error. Not related to invalid code but somehow the W3 CSS validator seems to be down for the count tonight.
After googling the error I found out I wasn’t the only one getting the same error.
I/O Error: The host name [www.fayec.com] couldn’t be resolved. Details: “www.fayec.com”
Apparently the server’s connection is intermittent and while down it can’t resolve the domain’s DNS. I would never expect W3 servers to go down but hey, it seems to happen to all of us.
This is my WTH?? of the day.
First of all I have to say that I absolutely love Stock Exchange and I use them quite often.
I got an email today from
StockExchange that looked pretty official. It was letting users know that their privacy policy had changed. Very nicely worded and all…then I get to the links to the new privacy policy and it had a link to a completely different domain so I thought to myself “PHISHING!!”.
I contacted SXC.hu right away to let them know that there was a phishing scam going around and to my surprise got an email from them saying that it was legitimate.
In this day and age where more and more people are being made aware of phishing and the risks of clicking on links on emails that look fairly official but take you to a “skinned” page where you will login and inadvertently give away your login and password combination you would think that they would have kept their click throughs a little bit more recognizable?
This is my WTH?? of today.
