sIFR3 font file mystery solved

So I had that little problem creating new font files for sIFR3. As I posted yesterday, I either got the “Please pass in your text.” error or just a blank where my text should be. It turns out that whenever I used the text tool in Flash to select the text and change it to another font I ended up with a blank font .swf. When creating new font files for sIFR3 just open the .fla in Flash (I am using CS3) and using the select tool double click the movie clip in the library. When the movie clip opens it will automatically select the text box. At that point you can change the font to be used in the file, save movie as (I use the font name for the font file) and export the movie. You can test the movie before exporting and if you see “Rendered with sIFR3…” it means the font file is working correctly.
